Body Language Charades
Many students—regardless of intellectual ability—have trouble correctly identifying and naming emotions. Playing Body Language Charades can help!
Here’s how it works:
1. Download this page, cut out the nine emotion cards, and put them in a bag.
2. As a group, come up with a sentence to be acted out. For example, “My mom brought a puppy home yesterday” or “Last weekend, I went to the store with my friend and her family.”
3. Invite each student to draw an emotion card from the bag and direct them to say the sentence using the emotion they drew.
As you play, explore tone and encourage use of non-verbal cues. (And get ready for lots of laughs!)
